Music that works
like therapy

Every track on HealthTunes is chosen for a specific therapeutic purpose, with binaural beats and isochronic tones tuned to conditions like anxiety, sleep, depression, and Alzheimer's. Clinically developed. Personalized to you.

The science of sound,
made personal.

A non-profit clinical music platform — not a wellness app.

Every track on HealthTunes is chosen for a reason. Not mood, not vibe: condition. Anxiety, sleep, depression, focus, Alzheimer's — each playlist is built around the specific frequencies that clinical research links to measurable outcomes.

Binaural beats work by playing two slightly different frequencies in each ear. Your brain perceives the difference and synchronizes to it, shifting into states associated with calm, focus, or sleep. Isochronic tones achieve a similar effect through rhythmic pulses. Both are embedded into music you actually want to listen to.

Headphones required. No prescription, no appointment. One month free, no credit card.

01

Choose your condition

Select from anxiety, sleep, depression, focus, Alzheimer's, and more. Choose the genres you actually enjoy — the therapeutic frequencies work within the music.

02

Listen with headphones

Stereo earbuds or over-ear headphones. The binaural effect requires separate audio in each ear — speakers won't work for the therapeutic layer.

03

Feel the shift

Many listeners notice a difference within a session. Over time, the benefit can grow. Use this alongside your existing care — never instead of it.

Questions

HealthTunes is a non-profit music streaming platform that combines curated music with binaural beats and isochronic tones, personalized to specific health conditions. Founded by Univ.-Prof. Walter Werzowa and developed in clinical partnership with UCLA Health, Wellstar Health System, and the NHS.
Binaural beats are an auditory phenomenon: when two slightly different frequencies play in each ear, your brain perceives the difference as a third frequency and synchronizes to it. This can guide your brainwaves into states linked to relaxation, focus, or sleep. Isochronic tones use rhythmic pulses to achieve a similar effect. Both require headphones.
No. HealthTunes is a complementary support — designed to work alongside your existing care, not replace it. If you're managing depression, anxiety, or Alzheimer's, please continue working with your healthcare team. HealthTunes does not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition.
The therapeutic approach is supported by peer-reviewed research, including a randomized controlled trial showing a 26.3% reduction in anxiety (Padmanabhan et al., 2005) and a meta-analysis of 55 RCTs on music therapy for depression (Tang et al., 2020). Ongoing clinical studies are underway with Wellstar and Chelsea & Westminster NHS.
Yes. Headphones are required for binaural beats to work. Standard stereo earbuds or over-ear headphones both work. Speakers still deliver the music experience, but the therapeutic layer — the binaural effect — requires separate audio in each ear.
HealthTunes does not sell or share your data. As a non-profit, there is no commercial incentive to monetize your information. Your health condition and listening history remain private. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
